What Ribble Valley’s scheme covers

What you get: Four components: crisis payments, housing payments, resilience services, and community coordination
Who qualifies: On a low income and facing sudden financial difficulty; housing payments require entitlement to housing benefit or the housing element of Universal Credit

Funding period: Runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029, replacing HSF and Discretionary Housing Payments

Ribble Valley Borough Council is one of 12 district councils in Lancashire. In a two-tier area the county council runs crisis payments and the district runs the housing side of the fund — rent shortfalls, a deposit, rent in advance. Lancashire County Council was allocated £17,693,881 for 2026-27; Ribble Valley Borough Council was allocated £42,611 of its own. If what you need is help with food or energy rather than rent, start with the Lancashire scheme.
