Ashfield District Council is one of 7 district councils in Nottinghamshire. In a two-tier area the county council runs crisis payments and the district runs the housing side of the fund — rent shortfalls, a deposit, rent in advance. Nottinghamshire County Council was allocated £9,394,912 for 2026-27; Ashfield District Council was allocated £181,124 of its own. What Ashfield itself says

Award. “The Revenues and Benefits Section will decide how much to award based on all of the customer's circumstances”

Decision. “The Revenues and Benefits Section will inform the claimant of the outcome of their application within 14 days of receipt of all of the information being received”
You will need. “The Revenues and Benefits Section may request any reasonable evidence in support of an application for a Housing payment. The claimant will be asked to provide the evidence within one month of such a request”
