Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council runs its local crisis help as the Crisis and Resilience Fund. It is a grant — not a loan: help with essentials, nothing to repay. This is a summary; Rotherham’s own page (linked below) is the authority and the current position.

Covers: Crisis payments for a financial crisis; £95 one-off summer 2026 payments for families with children on free school meals; a Council Tax Support top-up; housing payments; community support (food banks, household goods); and extra help for care leavers

Award: £80 or £200 depending on circumstances
What you get: Paid directly into the applicant's bank account
Who qualifies: Not means-tested and no need to be on benefits, but must show financial hardship
