Stratford-on-Avon District Council is one of 5 district councils in Warwickshire. In a two-tier area the county council runs crisis payments and the district runs the housing side of the fund — rent shortfalls, a deposit, rent in advance. Warwickshire County Council was allocated £5,910,784 for 2026-27; Stratford-on-Avon District Council was allocated £134,655 of its own. If what you need is help with food or energy rather than rent, start with the Warwickshire scheme.

What Stratford-on-Avon itself says

What you get. “Awards of CRF Housing Payment are intended to be short term and are made at the discretion of the Council”
Who qualifies. “You must be currently living in the Stratford on Avon district and receiving either Housing Benefit or Universal Credit”
How to apply. “If you have access to a printer you can print off a paper version of the form via the link CRF Paper Form or alternatively you can request a form be sent to you in the post by calling us on 01789 260991”
You will need. “You need to complete the form with as much information as possible and failure to do so may result in a delay to your application being dealt with, and in some cases may also mean that you are not given an award”
Not covered. “If you have sufficient funds to meet your outgoings/expenditure then an award will not be made”
