Bromsgrove District Council runs its local crisis help as the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF). It is a grant — not a loan: help with essentials, nothing to repay. This is a summary; Bromsgrove’s own page (linked below) is the authority and the current position.

Not covered: Cannot cover costs Housing Benefit/Universal Credit deem ineligible (e.g. fuel, water, meals, personal care) or extra payments due to rent arrears
Funding period: Fund runs for three years, until 31 March 2029

Bromsgrove District Council is one of 6 district councils in Worcestershire. In a two-tier area the county council runs crisis payments and the district runs the housing side of the fund — rent shortfalls, a deposit, rent in advance. Worcestershire County Council was allocated £6,527,725 for 2026-27; Bromsgrove District Council was allocated £73,446 of its own. If what you need is help with food or energy rather than rent, start with the Worcestershire scheme.

How often. “Housing Payments are not suitable for long term use”
How to apply. “To apply for a discretionary housing payment complete our application form”
You will need. “In some instances when we look at your application we may find we need to contact you and ask for additional supporting information”
Not covered. “The cost of things which neither Housing Benefit or the housing element of Universal Credit cover e.g. fuel, water meals or personal care”
Funding period. “The CRF is funded by the UK Government and will run for three years until 31 March 2029”
