Worcestershire County Council runs its local crisis help as the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF). It is a grant — not a loan: help with essentials, nothing to repay. This is a summary; Worcestershire’s own page (linked below) is the authority and the current position.

What Worcestershire’s scheme covers

Covers: Crisis payments (cash, energy and supermarket vouchers, household goods); housing payments (rent, deposits, removals); heating oil and LPG emergency support and heating repairs; and money advice
Status: Local scheme not yet open — still being developed in line with DWP guidance (confirmed 10 September 2026)
Funding period: Three years to 31 March 2029

Before you apply

Use the right route. Apply through your district council or a Worcestershire Advice Network partner (Citizens Advice, Age UK or DIAL); heating oil and LPG support is via Act on Energy

The Household Support Fund, in plain terms

Across England the Household Support Fund has largely been renamed the Crisis and Resilience Fund and now runs to 31 March 2029. It is money central government gives to upper-tier councils to help households with essentials — food, energy, and sometimes white goods. A payment does not affect your benefits. Other help you may qualify for

White-goods grants — a broken fridge, cooker or washing machine.
Budgeting Advance or Budgeting Loan — interest-free from the DWP.
Credit union loans — the cheapest borrowing, capped at 3% a month.
DWP phone numbers — which line to call, and for what.
