Mid Devon District Council is one of 8 district councils in Devon. In a two-tier area the county council runs crisis payments and the district runs the housing side of the fund — rent shortfalls, a deposit, rent in advance. Devon County Council was allocated £9,738,560 for 2026-27; Mid Devon District Council was allocated £91,675 of its own. What Mid Devon itself says

Who qualifies. “A household may be considered on a low income if they receive one or more of the following benefits: Universal Credit, Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit), Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support”
Referral needed. “A friend or family member can apply on your behalf”
How to apply. “Online is the best way to apply as you can update your details or view the status of the active service”
You will need. “2 months bank statements for all accounts in your name for all adult members of your household”
Not covered. “households with available capital in excess of £5,000”
Funding period. “From April 2026, Mid Devon District Council administers the Crisis & Resilience Fund (CRF)”
