What you get: Crisis Payments may include cash payments, energy vouchers, supermarket vouchers, or essential household items

Wyre Forest District Council is one of 6 district councils in Worcestershire. In a two-tier area the county council runs crisis payments and the district runs the housing side of the fund — rent shortfalls, a deposit, rent in advance. Worcestershire County Council was allocated £6,527,725 for 2026-27; Wyre Forest District Council was allocated £131,951 of its own. How often. “We have a policy to make awards for a maximum period of 13 weeks at a time”

You will need. “You will need to provide recent bank statements of all your bank accounts when applying and you may be asked to attend an interview”
Not covered. “Housing Payments cannot be made for: - Ineligible service charges - Increases in rent due to outstanding rent arrears - Reductions in benefits due to a sanction or recovery of a Housing Benefit or Universal Credit overpayment”
Funding period. “The fund is provided by the UK Government and will run until 31 March 2029”
