Warwick District Council runs its local crisis help as the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF). It is a grant — not a loan: help with essentials, nothing to repay. This is a summary; Warwick’s own page (linked below) is the authority and the current position.

What Warwick’s scheme covers

Award: No fixed rate; each application assessed individually
What you get: Discretionary payment made in addition to a Housing Benefit award or Universal Credit housing element
Who qualifies: Property must be in Warwick District and HB/UC Housing Cost Element must not cover the full rent

Funding period: Commences 1 April 2026, replacing the Discretionary Housing Payment scheme which has ended

Warwick District Council is one of 5 district councils in Warwickshire. In a two-tier area the county council runs crisis payments and the district runs the housing side of the fund — rent shortfalls, a deposit, rent in advance. Warwickshire County Council was allocated £5,910,784 for 2026-27; Warwick District Council was allocated £135,990 of its own. If what you need is help with food or energy rather than rent, start with the Warwickshire scheme.

What Warwick itself says

Award. “There is no fixed rate for such payments. Each application is considered based on your individual circumstances”
What you get. “The CRF- Housing Payment is a payment that may be made in addition to a Housing Benefit (HB) award or housing element, awarded as part of Universal Credit (UC)”
Who qualifies. “Your HB or UC Housing Cost Element does not cover your full rent”
How to apply. “If you are unable to apply online, please telephone 01926 456760 for alternative application options”
You will need. “A CRF - Housing Payment will only be considered upon receipt of a completed application form and all evidence to support that application”
Not covered. “The CRF - Housing Payment does not cover household expenses, storage costs, furniture, carpets, or white goods”
Funding period. “The Crisis and Resilience Fund Housing Payment (CRF- Housing Payment) commences on 1 April 2026 and replaces the Discretionary Housing Payment scheme, which has now ended”
